For Children

We have a large selection of easy reader books for all ages, from sturdy board books for infants and toddlers to multi-level books for beginning readers. For older elementary school readers, our junior fiction collection includes popular series such as Little House on the Prairie. The young adult section contains novels and series that appeal to both teens and adults.

Each year the library runs a Summer Reading Program infants through teens. This incorporates excellent programs by external presenters, such as the Iowa State University Insect Zoo and the Bubble Man. We hope to expand our program offering next year. We’ll keep everyone posted through Facebook.

Our Story Hour for small children is currently running twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesday mornings at 10 am at the library. Please consult our Facebook page for up-to-date information.
